“Sustainable – Innovative & Responsible Entrepreneurship” Awards | Athens Chamber of Tradesmen

The “Sustainable – Innovative & Responsible Entrepreneurship” awards of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen were awarded on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Stavros Niarchos Hall. The big celebration of entrepreneurship was honored by the presence of the President of the Greek Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

It was the 5th award ceremony, an event that has now become an institution. In this year’s celebration of entrepreneurship, which opened and closed to the sounds of the 65-member “Philharmonic Mantzaros” that came especially for the night from Corfu, small and medium enterprises were awarded that managed in unfavorable conditions, not only to survive, but to grow and innovate, strengthening the prospects for recovery of the Greek economy.

“Our country needs people who build ‘with reason and with vision’ our common future”, stressed the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, in her greeting at the awards ceremony. Referring to this year ‘s awards, she underlined that “representatives of small and medium enterprises are promoted who promote their production abroad in the most original way, using the arsenal of high technology, creating new quality jobs, with respect for the environment and high adaptability to the changing consumer needs brought about by the pandemic, but also to the goals of dual digital and climate change”.

The President of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen, Giannis Chatzitheodosiou, warmly thanked the President of the Republic, for her very honorable presence at the event, but also for her support in business. Referring to the course of the economy and entrepreneurship, Mr. Hatzitheodosiou noted “it is time to look at the pathogens and the problems that we still have to face. To make brave decisions, to correct and not to cover up our weaknesses. To invest in modern productive possibilities. In new knowledge and skills. To be at the forefront and not on the margins of digital and green development”. In this effort, as he stressed, companies can and must play a leading role and the chamber community is working with this goal, proposing and asking the State “measures to support businesses, in the face of burning, immediate problems such as energy price increases, the lack of liquidity and debt accumulation due to the pandemic”.
